Honda Motor Company can be defined in simple words as “From piston rings to vehicles as a whole”. From simple beginnings, But now Honda is known for a lot of things. Socihiro Honda, the creator of Honda Motor Company, started out as a manufacturer of piston rings in 1937. Later, he became a sub-contractor for Toyota and enlarged his business to manufacturing other engine parts. After the Second World War, Honda created the Honda Technical Research Institute in Hamamatsu, Japan, which becomes the Honda Motor Company, Ltd. two years later.

Honda, as a vehicle manufacturer, initiated with manufacturing scooters and motorcycles—instant and reasonably priced modes of transportation for then war torn Japan. In 1959, Honda initiated importing their scooters and motorcycles in the US with the launching of the American Honda Motor Co., Inc. in Los Angeles. It was only in the 1960s when Honda started manufacturing traveler cars and the first few bunches of cars were projected mostly for the Japanese market. It was not until the 1970s that Honda initiated extensive importation of their cars to the US.

Today, there are a massive amount of Honda vehicles that can be found in the major thoroughfares of the US. These vehicles are broadly admired for their refinement, longevity and trustworthiness.
